Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the product and billing.
Getting Started
Can I use my Nibbles credit card everywhere, or only at the vet?
You can use your Nibbles credit card anywhere Mastercard is accepted. This means not only is it accepted at the vet, but also most everywhere else.
How do I sign into my account?
Visit nibbles.com/q/signin to access your account. For further help, contact support@nibbles.com.
What is APR?
The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is a variable rate that determines how much interest an unpaid balance will be charged. If you pay your statement balance on time and in full each month, you will not be charged interest. APR is determined by adding a percentage margin to the U.S. Prime Rate. In the case of Nibbles, the card APR is 17.74% + U.S. Prime Rate. It may increase or decrease if the U.S. Prime Rate changes. U.S. Prime Rate is determined by the Federal Reserve and shifted based on current economic conditions.
Is there an annual fee?
No, the Nibbles Card has no annual fee.
Payments & Billing
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments for your Nibbles credit card must be made in U.S. dollars from a U.S. checking or savings account.
You can arrange to pay your credit card obligations by logging on to www.nibbles.com and setting up an electronic funds transfer (ACH) either manually with an account number and routing number or via Plaid. You can also pay your bill over the phone.
We do not accept payments by check, cash, or via mail.
Is there a minimum spend required for the card?
At this time the Nibbles card does not have a minimum spend requirement.
There are monthly minimums due with each statement to keep your account in good standing.
To avoid interest charges on purchases, you must pay your entire statement balance by the due date each month.
Can I make an additional payment before my automatic payment?
You can make additional payments at any time. If you pay before your due date, we'll adjust your automatic payment by the amount of your initial payment. If your first payment exceeds the automatic payment amount, we'll skip the automatic payment for that month. You can make payments on a daily basis.
How do I check my card balance or see if a payment is due?
- Sign in to your Nibbles dashboard
- Tap the two lines in the top left to open the menu
- Select "Nibbles Credit Card" or "Manage Card" from the menu
- Your current balance will be displayed as well as a button labeled "Pay" for you to make a payment if a payment is currently due. If a payment is not currently due, you can click the "No payment due" button and it will bring you to the "Payment center" to pay and review previous payment history.
Am I able to mail in payments or is it only online and via phone?
Payments to your Nibbles credit card must be made electronically from the Nibbles dashboard or over the phone. We do not accept payments by check or cash sent through the mail at this time. You can arrange an electronic funds transfer from a U.S. bank account by logging in to the Nibbles website.
How do I use my Nibbles contactless card?
Your contactless Nibbles card has a chip with a near-field communication (NFC) antenna, which allows for payments when you're close to the terminal. Simply tap your card near the Contactless Symbol at the checkout, and your payment will be processed.
Rewards
How do the rewards work?
You earn 3x Pet Points for purchases at pet stores, pet services, and the vet. All other eligible purchases earn 1x Pet Points. Points can be redeemed as statement credit toward your balance.
How do I redeem rewards?
You can redeem your Pet Points through your account dashboard on the bottom of the home account dashboard screen or in the "Rewards" section of the "Manage Card" category. Currently, the only redemption method is statement credit. We're working on adding more redemption options in the future — stay tuned!
Do I get 3x rewards anytime I buy pet food anywhere?
No, the 3x rewards are only for purchases at pet stores, pet services, and the vet. This is determined by Mastercard's merchant code categories. Larger retailers like Target, Amazon, Walmart, and Tractor Supply are not included in these categories, so you would get the standard 1x back there.
Are there other ways to redeem points besides statement credit?
Currently, this is the only method of redemption, but we are working diligently to provide more options for our customers in the near future. Stay tuned!
Is there a limit to how many 3x rewards I can earn?
No, there is no annual or lifetime limit for the 3x rewards.
What's the difference between a reward and a point?
These are used interchangeably, so they mean the same thing. In your account dashboard, they are called "Pet Points."
Pet Insurance — Coverage & Eligibility
What is pet insurance and how does it work?
Your Nibbles card includes pet insurance coverage for one eligible pet. Pet insurance helps cover unexpected veterinary costs for accidents and illnesses. There are no networks or insurance cards. After a short waiting period, you can file a claim when your pet needs care. If you use your Nibbles card at the vet, we can help streamline the process with our hassle-free claims process.
What's covered?
Accidents and illnesses are generally covered for eligible pets. For a more precise view of what is and is not covered by state, please go to our pet insurance page or if you are a current customer, go to your account dashboard to view your pet's policy documents in the "Policy" section of their insurance.
Understanding your pet's insurance eligibility
Pet eligibility for the included insurance depends on age, breed, gender, zip code, and other factors. Pets must be at least 6 weeks old. Dogs should be under 8 years old and cats under 10 at the time of enrollment. Some pets may qualify for paid insurance options even if ineligible for built-in base coverage.
What are pre-existing conditions?
A condition may be deemed pre-existing when your pet was already showing clinical signs and symptoms before the policy start date or during the waiting period. This also includes conditions for which your pet has received previous treatment or medical advice.
We review the past 24 months of medical records to determine if any conditions are deemed pre-existing.
If my pet is ineligible for the built-in pet insurance, what happens?
You can still apply for the Nibbles credit card and earn 3x rewards on pet & vet purchases. Ineligible pets may qualify for paid insurance at an additional cost — contact support@nibbles.com for a quote.
Can I add coverage for additional pets?
Additional pets currently cannot be added at an extra cost via Nibbles. We are working to restore this feature. In the meantime, you can contact Rainwalk directly for additional pet coverage, or reach out to support@nibbles.com for quotes.
Pet Insurance — Claims
How do I file a claim?
When using your Nibbles card at the vet, you'll receive an email asking you to file a claim — simply reply "yes" with a brief description. Nibbles will then coordinate with the insurance partner to file quickly. You'll be notified of the decision and reimbursed if approved. Without using the card, you can file manually through your dashboard or contact support@nibbles.com.
How does the automated claims filing work?
When you use your Nibbles card to pay at a veterinary provider, our system detects the transaction and sends you an email. Simply reply "yes" with a brief description of the visit, and Nibbles handles the rest — coordinating with our insurance partner to file the claim on your behalf.
How long does reimbursement take?
This varies based on if you have the correct documentation uploaded for each claim and how quickly our insurance partner is able to review once they have that documentation. Our insurance partner typically require 24 months of pet history and the SOAP notes of the vet visit to start the review process.
Is the deductible per incident or annual?
The deductible is annual, not per incident. You pay your deductible amount once per policy year before your reimbursement rate begins. After you meet the deductible, eligible claims will be reimbursed according to your plan's reimbursement rate until you reach your annual limit.
What are waiting periods?
After your plan has been finalized, there is a short waiting period before your coverage begins, depending on your state and the type of issue. For exact waiting periods by state, please visit our pet insurance page.
